Peterson Conservatory of Music and Arts

Application is now open for new members to join and create a wonderful cultural/musical exchange with Irish young musicians this coming summer. Mount Baker Youth Symphony in Bellingham and Fidalgo Youth Symphony in Mt. Vernon with our tour ensemble (North Stars Chamber Orchestra includes members from both symphonies and the greater Northwest) have produced many concerts in Washington State, and concert tours to China and Europe. Our musicians are very inspired by the beautiful country of Ireland, where we will perform and tour June 18-June 29, 2018.

The 2018 trip to Ireland will be a rare chance to experience one of the most historically rich countries in Northern Europe, and perform in historic sites in Dublin, Limerick, Galway, and Kilkenny. Irish youth symphony musicians are invited to perform with our team, and to travel to the Northwest the following summer to share in the USA portion of this musical exchange.

The North Stars Chamber Orchestra is an elite group of 17-20 classical musicians. After several successful Concert tours in Europe, including Lisbon in 2015, Prague/Vienna in 2016, (playing in famous historic venues), in 2017 we were invited to Vaasa Finland, where we joined with students from the Kuula Institute, performing works by Sibelius, and others, including

North Stars’ repertoire includes music by Sibelius, Vivaldi, Grieg, Telemann, Gluck, Copland, Bach, Vaughan Williams, Humperdinck, Frescobaldi, and more. Tangos and Folk music are also in the mix! New selections will be added according to our musicians’ needs and abilities. Concert admission is free and any donations go to PCMA, our sponsor organization (501 C-3 non-profit). We are a compartively young international touring orchestra and are seeking to advance the quality and artistic/cultural depth of our tours as we grow! Will you join us?/p>

Additionally, if you have contacts with musical organizations, youth symphonies, schools, or churches who might be interested in hosting a concert by North Stars Chamber Orchestra in the Northwest or in Ireland, please send them to me; it would be a great help to us. New applicants must submit a resume’ or perform an audition, to be approved to enter the tour. registration form.

Costs and Registration

Cost of this Trip will include Flights and Ticketing fees / all Ground Transportation including Airport Transfers / All Hotels / Breakfasts at Hotels / all VAT / Taxes, Concert Hall rentals.

• A $300 deposit is need per person to hold flights and hotels (this is nonrefundable - Flights will be paid for in March: final payment will be on or before April 15th, 2018).
• All deposits / Air and Land payments can be by check or credit card. If you use a credit card there will be a 4% user fee.
• Properties in Ireland are at a premium and difficult to book. Our relationship with some hotels is on a trust we are definitely coming basis. Others need deposits.
• Most IMPORTANT - the price below is based on per person and the properties that are available now. After November 5, prices of flights and accommodations rise, and will continue to do so.
• $2790 per person (includes airfare!)
